Reflections on the Past Year

MuseumTastic turns one this month!

The first thing that we are grateful for is you – for reading this blog post, subscribing to our email list, giving us a comment on social media, entering a drawing for a prize, or trusting us with a project for your museum or nonprofit. We also love to follow your work – client, fellow consultant, or friend! Our inspiration and drive come from the great things you do!

MuseumTastic had been a dream in the back of our founder’s mind for a long time. Over her 15-year career in museums, she found a number of passions that became part of her profession. Leaving full-time employment for a new full-time job AND starting up a business was a leap of faith. We’re delighted to be here 365 days later full of joy and gratitude.

Our first client was The House of the Seven Gables. Julie stayed on to support some peak season projects and support staff in the months after her departure. The Custom House Maritime Museum in Newburyport came knocking in late October for meeting facilitation support for their new strategic plan. Julie greatly appreciated the opportunity to keep meetings on focus and on task for the group that was looking to better engage with their community and preserve a phenomenal historic structure. From there, our project list grew! We’re currently working with Historic Beverly, Destination Salem, the North Shore Children’s Museum, the National Park Service, and The Pursuit of History on a diverse array of small projects.

MuseumTastic’s founder also knows that museums are gratifying and frustrating places to work. One of the sub-missions of this business is to give back to clients and colleagues. All our contracts include a donation pledge to the organization’s we work with. We’ve also given away some fun prizes to our friends – old and new – just to bring some smiles to faces!

As we embark on our second year in business, we’re excited to work on some new projects. And, our promise remains: No job is too small. We’re here to provide affordable options. Our goal for you is fantastic work!
