The Small Museum Toolkit

New England Museum Association Conference Session

It is really exciting to have a conference to look forward to! We are so excited to be presenting at this year’s NEMA Conference in Springfield, Mass.

The theme of the 2022 NEMA Conference is Micro/Macro: Solving Museum Issues at Every Scale. This themes was definitely the impetus for coming up with a toolkit for small museum practitioners. Anyone who has worked for small museum knows that staffers need to masters of many trades and also need a few extra hours in the day to complete everything on the never-ending to do list.

Our fantastic team of museum professionals will be there to help!

Our 90-minute session will consist of a short presentation and focused breakout time to work on the area where you need the most support. Do you have a preventative care manual? Disaster plan? Social media calendar? Online programming toolkit? If not, never fear! Our judgement-free zone of presenters are ready to help.

Our founder, Julie Arrison-Bishop, will be sharing social media tips and tricks to save time and drive engagement. Susan Baker, Collections Manager for The House of the Seven Gables will offer a 101 session about preventative care. Donia Conn of Simmons University will share her expertise about creating a disaster plan. Finally, Kaylee Redard of Mayflower II, Plimoth Patuxet, will show you how-to create a foolproof online programming kit.

All attendees will leave with handouts, templates, and inspiration to make their small museums more manageable.

The Small Museum Toolkit takes place on day one of the NEMA conference - Wednesday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m.
